Scheurebe belongs to the spicy grape varieties and is ideal for spicy, aromatic dishes as a wine accompaniment. Its bouquet is reminiscent of cassis, ripe yellow fruits such as pear and peach. History: The vine breeder Georg Scheu succeeded in 1916 in the State Institute for Vine Breeding Alzey (30 km from Langenlonsheim) with his 88th seedling of a cross between Riesling and Silvaner in the convincing new breed – the Scheurebe.
