BARDEN’s sole focus lies on the terroir of the Sta. Rita Hills, obtaining grapes from esteemed vineyards within the appellation. This allows them to highlight the region’s distinctive characteristics for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. The Sta. Rita Hills, with its varied soils influenced by the ocean and a climate that benefits from cool sunlight, offers an ideal environment for Doug “Barden” Margerum to utilize his extensive four-decade expertise in food and wine. Through this, he crafts small quantities of exceptional wines that harmonize well with cuisine and possess the ability to age gracefully.

• Color: Crimson and garnet hues.
• Aroma: Exuberant aromas of black raspberry and red fruit compote mingle with red tropical flowers. Notes of sandalwood, clove, cinnamon, and leaf litter add complexity, with subtle hints of oak and toast.
