Wine Tasting Notes
Cabernet sauvignon, Clone 6, our flagship wine, is a plant brought to California in the mid 1800’s, pre-phylloxera. The 2015 vintage is an amazing wine in every sense. In the glass, dark, opaque garnet color with a nose of blackberry, granite, forest floor, earthy white pepper, and worn leather. The palate enters as liquid velvet then energizes with a sensational level of acidity. Pure and focused fruits of red currants and red raspberry lead, and plum compote intermingle with cedar, sweet tobacco and iron. The finish is incredibly long, more than a minute, with a display of kirsch liqueur, sweet oak spice, and licorice. An incredible powerhouse of a wine with a delicate, precise delivery.
