Planeta, one of the larger families of Sicily has property throughout the island, including Menfi, Etna, Noto and Vittoria, where this wine hails from. Made from 60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato, it is one of the few highest quality DOCG of the region. The wine itself shows aromas of cherry, strawberry and pomegranate with hints of pepper and sandalwood. The palate is full bodied and round with lively acidity and notes of mulberries and sweet cherries. A wine for the senses.
